An interactive exploration of Vancouver’s heritage created for the Port of Vancouver’s Terminal 1 that highlights stories found along the Rotary Walk at Vancouver, WA’s Waterfront
Initially, we had a small grasp on what we wanted this project to look like, both visually and systematically. To help, I created many different iterations of models to showcase possible styles that could be imported into software for testing. I created high poly and low poly models to see what level of detail we could get away with in unity without causing issues, and I made multiple different textures that were reviewed by groups of people to develop the visual style of our project.
After looking over the models and textures I created, it was decided that we wanted to go will a low poly cell shaded style for all the 3D models. Within the group of motion graphic designers I was working with, I was given multiple different models created by others that I was to import into Unity and texture with a free pack known as Toon Shader. This resulted in 9 complete models, 1 of which was created by me, and all which were textured by me.
A point and click style game involving creating potions for customers through different ingredient combinations.
Players were to interact with various 3D ingredients which I was tasked to model a selected few of. Provided with concept art, I modeled, textured, and imported into unity my assigned ingredients.
This project provided a fun challenge of ensuring that the ingredients were recognizable when compared to their 2D counterpart, as players would be using a 2D recipe book with illustrations to guide them.
